DESCRIPTION:In response to the seemingly intractable economic challenges of
the Depression\, the Roosevelt administration initiated a number of so-ca
lled “letter agencies” to help provide employment and general economic
recovery. Among these\, the Works Progress Administration (WPA) is likely
the most well known\, famous for undertaking a myriad of local projects a
cross the U.S. This class will highlight the history of the WPA as it impa
cted the economic welfare and social experience of Michigan citizens.\n\n
