Despite current media rhetoric, immigrants are less likely to be imprisoned than U.S.-born individuals. In this discussion, participants will review the 2023 findings of Stanford University’s Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR), which examines immigrants from around the world living in the United States and considers misconceptions about immigrant-committed crimes that date back to 1880.
