Instructor: Jim Craft

Also available via Zoom Hybrid

D-Day is a critical event in western history and the basic outlines are well known. What is less well known are the factors leading to that success and the events that transpired from June 6 until the ultimate defeat of the German Army in Normandy three months later. Because of available class time, the focus of this presentation will be on the American experience rather than on the significant roles played by British and Canadian forces.

About the Presenter: Mr. Craft has a bachelor's degree in history from Oakland University and an a Master's in History from Wayne State University. His varied career has included in equal measures teaching, career consulting, operations management and historical consulting. Since retiring from the main game several years ago, his focus has been on developing a series of history books and lectures focused on important but underappreciated aspects of American history from a local history perspective.
