In March 2024, global analytics and public opinion polling firm, Gallup, reported their most recent survey results on LGBTQ+ identification in the United States. This discussion will share the full survey results, most notably perhaps: nearly 30 percent of Gen Z women self-identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. Gallup’s layers of data are secondarily confirmed by other sources, including the Public Religion Research Institute, which simultaneously reported that ‘Gen Z is more likely to be queer than Republican.’ Together we will analyze the survey results, consider the breakdown-by-gender data and note the generational differences new to this particular Gallup report.
