About this Event
14500 E. 12 Mile Road, Warren, MI 48088
Stop by at a time of your choosing and view dolls from Professor Kathleen Gerus’ STITCHES collection. STITCHES began in 1999 as an initiative to tell the stories of women living with HIV. Over the years, dolls have been made by all genders of individuals wishing to share their diverse stories of violence, trauma, hope and growth. This exhibit will feature some personally made dolls along with cards detailing their stories. As this exhibit pursues awareness for those who have faced or supported someone with cancer, a special collection will be highlighted.
A large banner of hope will also be on display in our Student Center so that people can write short messages of encouragement for those in our College community that are battling cancer or facing the experience in a loved one’s life.
Please note: For MMII credit, please pre-register at https://wce.macomb.edu/ and complete the questionnaire at the exhibit site.
